Getting Started

The first step is deciding you are ready to make a difference!  The rest will be easy once you've decided to get off the couch, and start motivating yourself and others to make an impact and difference in your community.

Fill out our online application noted above and let them know !  This is the beginning.  From there, our State Director will evaluate your experience and capability (along with age consideration) to match you with the ideal Local Ambassador, or see if you are a fit to become a Local Ambassador for your area or city!  Once you are "part of our family" we will help to provide you with the ideas and tools you need to start making a  difference!  We have reading assistance programs, teddy bear drives, book drives, food drives, fundraising events for DMO, and a whole lot more!

Not Sure You Have the Skills to Help?

Everyone - absolutely everyone - has the ability to help their community.  No matter your challenge, your State Director will be behind you to achieve your volunteer goals.  If becoming a leader is something you want, then you have definitely come to the right place!  You can't "be" a leader until you have become a great follower of leaders.  We will help put you in the driver's seat so you can begin leading your own event!

If you have a friend who would be perfect at leading an event, or perhaps they are shy and they would like to gain more self-confidence, help them fill out our ONLINE APPLICATION FORM and let them know they will only take on what they are ready for.  We are here to help kids and teens become leaders at THEIR OWN PACE.  Think of learning to be a leader like a marathon; it is not a sprint!
